Bess Miles-Duncan

Bess was born in North Yorkshire, and moved to Saltaire in 2005. She has been writing for most of her life, and is currently working on an edition of her poetry and a second volume of autobiography.

Recently (Wednesday 15th February 2006) Bess was interviewed on BCB about her fascinating meeting with a long-lost sister, and on this occasion she also read out some of her poems, which were well-received.

Bess's poetry is inspired particularly by aspects of Nature and the flowing movements of dance. She is an enthusiastic supporter of the five rhythms developed originally by Gabrielle Roth.

Here is a small selection of Bess's poems, each accompanied by one of her own photographs.
