DANCE
(Inspired by Isadora)

Floating to the rhythm over lino
Bending my curves into new shapes
My feet twist in ecstasy
While my hands hold the air
I perform for you my Gods and Goddesses
In the evening light.

The notes are louder now
I have flowed in bliss
The hip turning into itself
The skin leaks once more
And my feet change into a robotic trance
The demons forced out into the open
Rush into the shadows for safety.

In Chaos I meet you in the middle
You don’t hold me in your grip anymore
Yet I dance in your name
We are free in our movement
Light in expression
Joy in our hearts
And love melting the seams.

In Lyrical I am in a new place
Strange at first
But gentler somehow
I can look you in the eye
Yet stare straight ahead
In tiptoeing around the room
Are empty spaces
Where no foot has yet tread.

In Stillness I paint your DNA on my soul
I am quiet now
And I feel your breath on my breath
Your fingers on my heart
I lie awake in your arms
And your song is my song
We are one in the dance.
