Richard Monkhouse (Cosmo to his friends) is a remarkable human being --- the versatility of his talents is matched only by the generosity of his nature. After graduating from Cambridge he went into electronics and worked for Peter Zinovieff's cutting edge synthesizer workshop EMS Later he started his own company costronics, dedicated to the peaceful use of electronics. He has been employed regularly as a consultant by Imperial College London, and his circuit design work is of the same high standard as his computer programming. Cosmo is a keen astronomer and together with his friend John Cox has published several star atlases which have been warmly welcomed by the scientific community. (click here for a review of the first by astronomer Nigel Henbest). He is a long-term member of CND, and a keen environmentalist. One of his web-sites is dedicated to making a case for solar power. (click here). Cosmo also composes music, and is a talented artist. Click here to see some of his pictures. |
